Citizens Research Council Tax Update
The Citizens Research Council (CRC) recently released its annual report on the state's tax system. The report, which highlights changes made to the tax system since last year, is available at the CRC web site at http://www.crcmich.org/TaxOutline. The outline concludes that in addition to the MBT there were several other significant changes made to the state's tax structure, as well as changes to the property tax code, personal property taxes, and the personal income tax laws. The outline includes summaries of all taxes levied by Michigan state and local government, as well as information concerning tax bases, rates, credits and exemptions. It also includes summaries of recent tax legislation, and the statistical and legal history of each major tax.
