James P. Curran, Partner

Jim joined Karoub Associates in 2000. Curran is the former manager of Government Relations for Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART). A certified professional of the Academy for Health Care Management, Jim brings to Karoub Associates a solid background in transportation, health care, government and grass roots political organizing. A. Gregory Eaton, Partner

One of the Capitol's most popular lobbyists, Gregory has been with Karoub Associates since 1968. A long time leader in the Lansing community, he is also a former Executive Assistant with the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association.

Scott D. Faustyn, Partner

Scott joined Karoub Associates in 1986. In addition to his duties as a political consultant and lobbyist, he enjoys a solid reputation for political campaign expertise and trade association management. Scott is also the Executive Director of the Michigan Financial Services Association. Education: B.S., Michigan State University.

Joe Garcia, Managing Partner

Voted Michigan's most effective lobbyist by Inside Michigan Politics, Joe joined Karoub Associates in 1980. A practicing attorney, he also serves as General Counsel to the Michigan Racing Association. Joe is a former high school teacher and coach, and has worked for the Michigan Catholic Conference and the Michigan Food Dealers Association. Joseph Palamara, Associate

Joe joined the firm in January 2001. A former seven term state legislator and current Wayne County Commissioner, Joe brings a wealth of experience in state and local government. Education: B.A., Michigan State University; J.D., Detroit College of Law.

Michael W. Ranville, Partner

Michael joined Karoub Associates in 1982. A former research director in the Michigan Senate, he has a background in public relations. Michael is the author of numerous magazine articles involving politics and sports. His first book--To Strike at a King: The Turning Point in the McCarthy Witch-Hunts--was recently published. Education: B.S. and M.A., Central Michigan University.

Kim A. Rhead, Partner

Kim joined Karoub Associates in 1999. A former legislator, he represented the 83rd House District in Michigan's thumb area for six years. Prior to serving in the House, Kim worked 15 years for National Bank of Detroit. As a legislator he was responsible for reforming the state's retirement system and also distinguished himself as Vice Chairman of the Business and Finance Committee. Education: B.S., Central Michigan University.

John K. Schick, Partner

A practicing attorney, Jack joined Karoub Associates in 1969. He is one of Lansing's best known and most respected lobbyists. Education: B.A., Michigan State University; J.D., Cooley Law School.

Shelly M. Stahl, Partner

Shelly joined Karoub Associates in 1997. She is the former Finance Director for the Michigan Republican State Committee and was one of four individuals appointed by Governor John Engler to his 1995 Inaugural Committee. She has extensive experience in fundraising, political campaigns and political parties. Education: B.S., Michigan State University.

Tabitha J. Zimny, Associate

Tabitha joined Karoub Associates in 2003. She holds a dual degree from Michigan State University in International Relations and Advertising. She has several years experience in the nonprofit sector and with local and state government.

Murray E. Brown, of counsel to the firm

Murray is the former Deputy Commissioner of the Michigan Financial Institutions Bureau. He has an extensive background in legislative and regulatory matters dealing with financial institutions. Education: B.A. and M.A., Michigan State University.

Donald F. Wall, of counsel to the firm

Don brings an in-depth understanding of trade association management and public affairs to Karoub Associates. He is the former chief executive officer of the Michigan League of Savings Institutions. Education: B.S., Michigan State University.
